Marine Education with Naturaliste Charters

Marine Education and Sustainability with Naturaliste Charters

Sustainability Is At The Heart Of What We Do

When I joined Naturaliste Charters, I wanted more than just a help on the whale-watching tours; I wanted to make a difference.

From day one, I saw that each tour here goes beyond sight-seeing, acting as a bridge between people and the ocean, inspiring guests to care for marine life.

Every expedition is a chance to connect with the ocean’s wonders and contribute to the conservation of these incredible creatures.

Sustainability is at the heart of what we do.

We’re proud to hold Eco-tourism and Ecostar certifications, which guide our practices to protect the ocean.

By reducing waste, avoiding single-use plastics where possible, and using fuel-efficient vessels, we minimise our environmental footprint.

Each trip we conduct is designed not only to provide a memorable experience but also to preserve the natural habitat of the animals we admire.

Knowing that our efforts support marine health makes each tour deeply rewarding.

Education is a Huge Focus

Education is a huge focus for us. Our team of marine biologists and experienced guides make every tour informative and engaging.

We don’t just talk about the whales and dolphins we encounter; we dive into their behaviours, life cycles, and the challenges they face due to human impact and climate change.

These insights transform how our guests view marine life, fostering a sense of responsibility that lasts long after the tour ends.

Listening to the underwater calls of whales through our onboard hydrophones is a reminder of their beauty and vulnerability.

For anyone curious about Western Australia’s marine biodiversity, we offer a range of tours tailored to the seasonal movements of these majestic animals.

In Dunsborough and Busselton, our tours run from September to December, following the humpback and blue whale migrations.

In Bremer Bay, from January to April, our Orca Expeditions take visitors to one of the few places in the world where they can observe orcas feeding in the wild.

Each experience is awe-inspiring, educational, and conducted in a way that respects the animals’ space and natural behaviours.

Marine Research and Local Conservation Projects

We’re also actively involved in supporting marine research and local conservation projects.

During our tours, we gather valuable data—such as sighting information and behavioural observations—that we share with researchers.

This data is crucial in tracking population health and understanding how climate change affects these animals.

Knowing that our work contributes to science and conservation keeps us dedicated to responsible tourism.

As someone who’s passionate about protecting marine ecosystems,

I believe in inspiring others to make sustainable choices.

We encourage our guests to help protect the ocean through small, meaningful actions—reducing plastic use, supporting eco-friendly initiatives, and spreading awareness.

Every effort counts, and seeing the excitement in our guests when they learn about the ocean makes me hopeful for a future where more people are invested in marine conservation.

Joining a tour with Naturaliste Charters isn’t just an adventure; it’s a journey into marine conservation.

Our hope is that each guest leaves inspired, knowing that together, we can make a difference.
