Bremer Bay Killer Whale Tours: An Unforgettable Marine Adventure

What an unforgettable season opener in Bremer Bay.

This beautiful coastal town is home to the most spectacular killer whale tours in Australia.

Each expedition offers breathtaking encounters with orcas in their natural habitat, making it a must-do experience from December to April.

Why Bremer Bay Killer Whale Tours Are Unmissable

During summer and autumn, the Bremer Canyon becomes a hotspot for marine life.

Killer whales, or orcas, dominate the scene, captivating visitors with their intelligence, teamwork, and playfulness.

This unique location provides the best chance to witness orcas hunting, socialising, and caring for their young in crystal-clear waters.

A Day on a Bremer Bay Killer Whale Tour

On a recent tour, passengers were greeted by Tatty and her pod, including her playful calf Charlie and the new addition, Marley.

Marley, estimated to be 7–8 months old, delighted everyone by surfing waves and spy-hopping near the boat.

The pod showcased their playful side, passing under the vessel and rolling to reveal their striking white bellies.

At 11 am, the orcas’ behaviour shifted as they began to hunt.

Tatty’s pod dove for an hour, giving passengers a chance to enjoy locally catered wraps and rolls.

Meanwhile, seabirds like Wilson’s Storm Petrels, Indian Yellow-nosed Albatross, and Flesh-footed Shearwaters danced above, drawn to the action below.

The sight of orcas feasting on squid, leaving leftovers for the birds, highlighted the incredible marine ecosystem at work.

Killer Whale Highlights of the Day

The excitement didn’t end there. Mature males Chalky and Hookfin joined the pod, their distinctive dorsal fins towering above the water.

Later, Marley and another young orca delighted everyone by double spy-hopping, a picture-perfect moment that left passengers in awe.

As the day wound down, the pod swam peacefully in formation, offering a serene finale to an unforgettable tour.

Guests enjoyed afternoon tea with smiles all around, their hearts full from a rewarding day.
